Today is April 26th

Today I have:

1. Had an altercation with an older man at the gym who told me my voice was annoying and to shut up while I was talking to a friend of mine. I told him to turn up his headphones and join an all male gym if we were bothering him that much. It got worse, but that was the gist.

2. Cleaned up pee from the bathroom floor at the Kids Club at the gym. Then walked my half naked daughter out to the car in front of tons of peeps working out. Oh, and 'accidentally' mooned the a-hole on the treadmill who told me I was annoying.

3. Went shopping at Nobb Hill, only to accidentally ram my cart into a poor old man's behind while he was bending over to get something off a shelf. In that same shopping trip I dropped and shattered a mandarin orange jar and flung a bag of tortillas half way across the aisle. They ripped open and tortillas went everywhere.

4. Discovered that Nathan has pink eye. Again.

5. Realized I should NOT be leaving the house today, and plan to stay home until tomorrow.

New Family Portrait

By Nathan

(from top to bottom - left to right)
Quote:
"Angel, in the clouds waching over us from heaven. Cause she can see now.  Kiehloe. Daddy, Nathan, Cheyanne, Mommy and Baby Austin. He's out of your belly"

Little Red Shoes

We have a 'too small box' that Cheyanne went through and found her first Christmas shoes in.  They are a size 3.  She is now a size 8.

Me: "Cheyanne, don't you think those shoes are too small for you?"
Shy: (bouncing around the room, doing twirlys in her skirt) "Nope, they fit perfect"

Baby Pool

Just wanted to let you all know we are starting a baby pool. No buy in, but there will be some sort of prize for the winner.

To play you have to send me a guess of weight and date. The winner is whoever gets the closest to the actual birth date and weight. You cannot double up on a date/weight. Whoever guesses that specific date/weight first, gets that block. You only get one guess.

In case you were wondering, yes Sal and I have guesses in the pool too. Hey, its a surprise to us too!

If you want to play, here is a little background to help with your guess:
Nathan was 3 days late and weighed 8.4lbs
Cheyanne was 7 days late and weighed 9.5lbs
Its a boy, due June 5th
Send guesses to kiehloe@hotmail.com.

Good Luck :)

Hockey Tots Starts

Hockey Tots at Sharks Ice started. There are about 40 kids in the class and 15 or so instructors. In the first class (yesterday) they divided up the kids depending on skill level. Ones that ROCKED, ones that still needed buckets and everyone in between. Nathan is in between somewhere. The first half hour of the class is dedicated to teaching them the fundamentals of Hockey skating. Like skating backward or falling and getting up really fast etc.
The second half hour is free skate. They turn on the music and let the kids do what they want. When the kids can skate well enough, they move up to Hockey. That means, one practice and one game a week.

Waiting to go in

This was taken right after he said "Mooom! Don't talk to me!"
Apparently boys don't like when you tell them they are cute over and over.

She didn't care!

Brrrrrrr!!

That, in and of itself is a huge chore

Kid Funny

In the past few months, as an intro to reading, throughout the day as the kids and I are talking, I'll pick out a word we are talking about and sound it out.  Then I'll ask them which letter makes that sound?  Which letter does the word start with?

Nathan: "Look Mom, my cereal is in the shape of a 4"
Me: "Oh cool!  FFFFFFfour.  What does ffffffour start with?"
Nathan: "8"
Me: "No, what letter does fffffffour start with?"
Nathan: "Cereal"
Me: "No, what letter in the alphabet does ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffour start with?"
Nathan: (thinking really hard) "Monster! Grrrrrrr!"

Easter Bunny Phone Call

It is supposed to rain like crazy on Easter this year which will totally ruin our Easter egg hunt we have planned for the kids in the morning. Because of this we decided to have Easter on Saturday instead.

Since we moved Easter to a whole new day, someone had to 'ask' the Bunny if he could please come early.

We called a friend of mine who is a teacher and really good at these things, to play Easter Bunny. Here's the call:

Easter 2010

This year we celebrated Easter on Saturday with just us Colhours. We did an egg hunt for the kids in the backyard and they both got Easter baskets from the Bunny. After that we went to downtown Campbell to watch the Bunnies and Bonnets Parade. The parade was OK. After the 2hr super awesome/well organized Seattle Thanksgiving parade, this just seemed like a small town that threw something together at the last minute. Plus it was really cold out and there were a lot of parents who were behaving badly. They blocked the view of kids, tried to steal our seats and kept standing in the middle of the street as the parade went by. On the good side, Cheyanne decided she is NOT scared of the Easter Bunny anymore and never will be again. The kids also got to draw with chalk in the middle of the street (since the roads were blocked off) which they really enjoyed.

The next day on Easter Sunday, Nonna, Grampa Charles, Uncle Michael and Uncle Robert came down for breakfast at Stacks. Stacks breakfast was only OK. The restaurant was too crowded, the food was mediocre, the weather was CRAPPY and we were all mashed up at a lopsided table. After breakfast we came back to our place and they gave the kids some cool Easter gifts and hung out for a bit.

In the evening we went to Auntie Sue's house for dinner.  It was delicious and fun as usual.

See, I'm not scared anymore

Please excuse the Macaroni mouth, this was the only pic he would let me take of him.
