Kid Notes (Cheyanne)

A note to Austin, from Cheyanne, while he was throwing up sick.

"Austin,
I really hope you get well soon and I hope you are better before Christmas comes.
Love, Your sister who loves you".

Those are pictures of Austin with throw up (right) and all better (left).

The only one in sports this fall is Nathan.  Cheyanne is recovering from her wrist injury and Austin is too young.

Elf on the Shelf

Joe-Joe our Elf on the Shelf has made his return!  The kids (and us) could not be more excited.  If you are unfamiliar with the Elf Story, click here

We first adpoted Joe- Joe last year.  Sal and I didn't really understand the idea.  Our Elf was out and about, spying on our kids in a new spot every day, but he was not michevious, naughty or funny.  He was a little creepy honestly.

This year with the help of Pinterest and a little imagination.  We have had SO much fun so far!  The kids are loving his pranks and silly places he 'lands' each morning.   Including Barbies bed in Cheyanne's doll house, behind the mirror after writing on it with dry-erase marker and behind the frog tank peeking in.

Here are some of our better ideas.
Some homemade and some borrowed.

December 1st!  Joe-Joe's grand entrance!
This day was talked about for the entire month of November!

Born to be Wild.
Looking back, he should have been wearing Cheyanne's Barbie's motorcycle helmet.

Ah, yes. The HI-LARI-OUS underwear prank heard 'round Forest Hill.
Nathan still talks about it.
"Mom, remember Joe-Joe's prank?"

My First Thanksgiving Feast!

For all our Thanksgiving Holidays as a family, we have spent them away from home.  Our house is way too small to host our own and I've never cooked for a lot of people.  If I am totally honest, I am not a huge fan of Thanksgiving food anyway.  Its always fattening, loaded with butter and just "eh".

This year we were invited to Grandpa Bob's house.  He lives about 10 minutes away in Los Gatos.  The meal was healthy and delicious!  I mean DELICIOUS!  It was so.darn.good!  I don't know what was different this year but I was ALL OVER that feast!  I almost had thirds.

In lieu of the delicious meal, Sal and I were craving leftovers.  That's the thing with going to someones house.  You never get to keep the leftovers....

So, we decided to have our own Post-Thanksgiving feast!  It was fantastic and healthy!  For the first time I made a turkey (which was fabulous!), stuffing, and quiona.  The other stuff was easy.  Plus, I had my awesome helper Shy.  One of the best parts was that, wait for it, wait for it, Nathan ate seconds!  Nathan!  My little ethiopian.  It must have been good!
