Sal Turns 27!

For Sal's birthday this year, I booked him a time to do Indoor Sky Diving at iFly in Union City.  Originally he was going to do it by himself while we all watched, but it worked out that Nathan got to fly with him.  Next time I am definitely going to do it also.  It looked like so much fun!  Nathan said he wouldn't do it again because the air hurt his nose - I'm sure he'll change his mind when he gets older.  Cheyanne said she would "not never, no never go in there". 

These are the best pics I could get because of the flash and can't remember how to upload the camcorder video to the computer. Once I can remember, we have the whole video of both of their flights.

Later that evening Uncle Angelo came over and we ate dinner and had cake.  The cake looked pretty cool, but I don't think the black frosting was a good idea. It was so messy and looked like we were eating motor oil.

4th Of July 2010

This year for the 4th we knew we wanted to see fireworks but didn't know what we wanted to do.  We usually go to the Port of Redwood City, but they weren't having them this year plus we needed a change.  We like the 4th to be just us so we decided to stay around town.

I looked online and found a 95.7 KRTY sponsored country concert held at Municipal Stadium in San Jose.  This is where the SJ Minor League Giants play ball.  We had to buy tickets which was pretty lame, but the kids were all free and they were only $15/ea.  We brought our own dinner to tailgate when we got there.  We got to sit on the field and it wasn't too crowded so the kids had a HUGE area to run and play with all the other kids.  Despite some injuries (Nathan fell twice skinned both knees and headbutted another girl and got a fat lip) everyone had a good time.

The concert was good, even Sal who doesn't like country enjoyed it!  The fireworks were AWESOME.  This was one of the best shows we've ever seen.  Definitely worth the $15.

Kid Funny

While eating lunch today.  Nathan took a bite of his Triscuit (which is square shaped) so it looked like the letter "L".

Nathan: "Look Mom!  A 'L'.
Me: "Oh cool.  What else can it be?"
Nathan: "A gun! Or a number 7!"
Me: "Wow, its lots of things!"
Cheyanne: (picking up a triscuit off her plate - without taking a bite of it) "Look Mom! A wall"

Rocker Girl

Cheyanne got a new Barbie that came with a hair straightener that doubled as a "pink streaker".   We streaked Barbie's hair and Cheyanne's hair.  She just so happened to have kinky hair from wearing braids earlier that day, so when we pulled her hair back, she had a total 80's punk rock look.  It was awesome.

For Mother's Day, my sister-in-law Stephanie posted an interview with her kids that she had gotten from another friend of hers.  I loved the questions and her kids' answers so, I stole it :)
