Austin Bakers Cyst Update

Dr. Rodgers ordered an ultrasound on Austin's knee.  The "lump" which was deemed a Bakers Cyst has gotten much bigger and doesn't seem to be going away.  The ultra sound would determine if it was a mass, fluid filled or an aneurysm. 

Turns out it is a "simple anechoic thin walled avascular cyst, sized 5 x 1.1 x 2.1 cm".  Holy jargon....

Avascular means there is not blood supply into the cyst (meaning no aneurysm), which is a good sign and anechoic means it just looked like one type of density on the ultrasound, so its a simple cyst and not multiple parts to the bump.

Until the cyst becomes painful or gets in the way of his everyday life, they are going to leave as is and hope it bursts (not painful) on its own.
